Here are some suggestions for sites which work well on interactive
whiteboards in the classroom. Select a subject and age group.
Maths - Key Stage 1
Odd or Even
A drag and drop activity at three levels of difficulty, the hardest being numbers up to 100. Move the numbers into the correct place on the Venn diagram.
Numbers to 20
The site begins by going through the numbers to 20, however you can advance to look at individual numbers. Hear their names, see how they are written and represented by objects.
Number Line
An interactive numberline from the DfES to support the teaching of number and scales.

Greater than or less than?
Compare the numbers and drag and drop the correct signs into place.
Bang on Time
A game where children read the time in words and then stop the clock when the hands are in the matching position. You can adjust the speed of the hands.
Counting Machine
A good demonstration tool for teachers to ask the question 'What number comes next in the sequence?' The site displays a virtual counting stick.
Sort the Shapes
Sort the shapes on a Carroll diagram. The headings include rectangles, not rectangles, red and not red.
Triangle Sort
Children can learn about how Venn diagrams work here as well as sorting shapes into two groups: triangles and other shapes.
Partition
For children just recognising that two digit numbers are made up of tens and units.
Number Jumbler
Interactive games called Odd and Even, Win the Money, Missing Signs, Rounding to the Nearest 10p and More or Less. Part of the Starship maths BBC site.
Splat Square
An interactive hundred square for exploring number patterns. You may prefer to turn off your speakers for this site.
Sort 2D Shapes
Sort the shapes depending on whether they have no right angles, some right angles or all right angles.
Count on me!
Activities to help children learn their number bonds to 10. There is a pairs game with number and picture prompts and problem solving using the number facts to 10.
The Zoo
A wonderful site for developing and reinforcing mathematical vocabulary such as shortest, tallest and smallest. Excellent sorting activities and children can match parent and young.
Billy Bug
A good teaching aid when teaching coordinates using positive numbers.
Higher and Lower
How good are you at ordering numbers? Lots of examples to try from simple ordering numbers to 10 to fractions, decimals or negative and positive numbers.
Compare, Order and Measure Length
Learn how to order different lengths and the words that we use like shortest and longest.
Measuring Lines
See if you can use the ruler to measure the lines in centimetres.
Scales Reader
Can you read scales? Then try this scales reader which includes weights in grams and kilograms.
Count on Convict
A game where you can practise two-digit take away sums by counting on. A good game for helping you to get your subtraction sums right.
More, Fewer and Same
You will learn what the words more, fewer and same mean on this website.
Tens and Ones
A useful teaching tool to demonstrate tens and ones, and potentially the addition of two two-digit numbers.
Number Line
A great number line to practise counting in ones, twos, threes up to tens. Watch how the frog jumps to each new number.
Ordinal Numbers
Activities which demonstrate the idea of first, second, third and so on. In the main activity children place competitors in order in two races. Further activities teach higher ordinal numbers from 11th to 20th.
Thinking of a Number
Guess the number by revealing the clues on the clouds one by one.
Working with Coins
Solve number problems involving money. See how good you are at counting money and giving change.
Tessellations
A teacher demonstration tool to show how shapes or combinations of shapes tesselate. You can drag and rotate the shapes. Check out the suggested activities.

A teaching tool for estimating numbers on a numberline. Useful for decimals too.

An amazing site which can really help your understanding of Carroll Diagrams and concepts like multiples, more or less and odd or even.

A brilliant tool for helping children tell the time using both analogue and digital times.

A great teaching clock which gives the time in analogue and digital times. Turn the clock on or back in different time periods.
Calculation Balance
An excellent site for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division practice. Good for learning your times tables. Also it is a useful tool for teachers to demonstrate balancing simple equations for Key Stage 1 SATs questions.
Fractions
Learn basic fractions of shapes. This site is a good teaching tool for demonstrating halves, quarters and thirds. You can download the resource to use offline.
Place Value Charts
A brilliant resource for learning or teaching place value. Excellent for teachers and pupils alike. Different levels of difficulty which include decimals.

An excellent teaching tool with lots of options for displaying different number lines.
Bingo
A useful teaching tool with a great range of number activities at different levels. This site makes class Bingo activities manageable.
Dartboard Mental Maths
A teaching and learning tool on doubling, halving, rounding, fractions and percentages.
Greater Than or Less Than
Turn the crocodile to show which number is greater than or less than another. Remember the crocodile's mouth faces the bigger number. This site can help you learn the correct signs.
Addition of 2 and 3 digit Numbers
Demonstrate how units or tens are regrouped or in addition sums with carrying.
Multiple Matrix
A game which can help you with the multiplication facts. It can show you multiplication patterns in a hundreds square. Try the questions to see if you can find the sets of multiples under 100.
