The Wind in the Willows
Listen to The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham told in ten episodes by Bernard Cribbins. Each episode is accompanied by a short synopsis and a printable transcript, for the children to follow. There are follow-up ideas for teachers.
Countdown
A great mental maths challenge where you need to use the numbers available and the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to hit the target. The game does not check your solution. Works well on IWB.
Dienes and Coins
Useful place value teaching resources for use on an interactive whiteboard. They cover hundreds, tens and ones and UK money. With some you will need to drag the Dienes blocks to represent the number you want. Please note the decimals section is faulty.
100 Hunt
A simple game where you need to add 10 to other numbers on a hundred square. It is best displayed on full screen and would work well on an interactive whiteboard.
Sorting 3D Shapes on a Venn Diagram
An activity where you use a Venn diagram to sort a variety of 3D shapes according to their properties, including: whether they are pyramids or prisms, the number of faces, edges and vertices and whether they have a curved surface.
Make and Colour
Lots of lovely craft activity ideas for young children from CBeebies.
How to Draw in Perspective
A short video showing how to draw in perspective.
How your Eyes Work
An interactive guide from Lenstore where you can take a journey through the eye through the pupil all the way through to the optic nerve. There are clickable pop-up labels describing the function of each part of the eye.
Elements of a Story
The "Elements of a Story" interactive is designed for children to do on their own, but the different online activities can also be adapted for classroom use. Taking the story of Cinderella it explores the different 'ingredients' that make up a story.
