Ways to Use a Visualiser in the Classroom
Here are some great ideas for using a visualiser in the classroom. They are becoming more common as they allow teachers to display a single object or small area to an entire classroom.
Moving Digit Cards
A place value teaching aid. It demonstrates the effect of multiplying and dividing whole or decimal numbers by 10, 100 or 1000. There is also a practise area for students to test their skills.

What are Biomes?
This BBC Bitesize site explaines that biomes are areas of the planet with similar climates, landscapes, animals and plants. It looks at rainforests, deserts, savannah, woodlands, grasslands and tundra.
Maths is Fun
A useful site if you are struggling with your maths as it explains different areas of maths. You can then work through examples and answers are provided. It is an American site, with something for all age groups. There is useful maths dictionary of terms.
Best Maths Animated Gifs
Downloadable animated gifs which demonstrate mathematical concepts such as Pythagorus Theorem, how to find the area of a cylinder and more. Useful teaching aid for use on an interactive whiteboard.
Scooter Quest
A place value game which will test your knowledge of digit values. There are 3 levels of difficulty which go from two to four decimal places. Note the currency is dollars but this does not mean the game is not useful in other currency areas.
