A great mental maths challenge where you need to use the numbers available and the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to hit the target. The game does not check your solution. Works well on IWB.
Maths is Fun
A useful site if you are struggling with your maths as it explains different areas of maths. You can then work through examples and answers are provided. It is an American site, with something for all age groups. There is useful maths dictionary of terms.
Pattern Shapes
Try making patterns, tessellations or pictures with shapes. Explore geometry and fractions or investigate symmetry. Great for demonstrating protractors and measuring angles in shapes.
Fractions of Amounts Bingo
A superb way for finding fractions of amounts including fractions of measures: cm, grams and ml. This teaching resource is ideal for mental maths sessions using an interactive whiteboard. It requires knowledge of tables. Ideal for SATs.
Grover's Winter Games
This game is probably suitable more for use at home than at school. It has three parts. The first has number to 15 number recognition activities, the second has shape patterns to complete and the third tests a child's ability to follow instructions.
Button Bop
A memory challenge game. Can you remember a sequence of up to 10 sounds and shapes? This is a good activity for helping a child's listening skills.
