A great site packed with information, ideas and resources to encourage us to recycle. It has facts about how different materials are recycled including videos and animations. The text is hard for Key Stage 1 but the videos and teaching ideas are useful.
Flip Counter
A brilliant counting tool which displays numbers up to 99.999. It is excellent for demonstrating 1 more or less, 10 more or less or 100 more or less. It is also useful as a place value tool and there is an optional decimal point.
Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo
An abridgement by the BBC of Michael Morpurgo's moving story about a soldier called Thomas "Tommo" Peaceful, who is looking back on his life from the trenches of World War 1. It underlines the senselessness of war.

Spelling Bee
The spelling activities on this US site are for children aged 5 in September (Grade 1) up to age 17 in September (Grade 10). The primary age activities are good exercises for KS1 and KS2 spelling SATs in England as they follow a similar format.
The Edward Jenner Museum
A website and museum dedicated to the life and work of Edward Jenner. It has a biography and details of how smallpox was beaten. The museum is currently developing resources for Key Stages 1 and 2 in addition to older age groups.
