Topmarks in Gaelic
We have collaborated with Stòrlann Nàiseanta na Gàidhlig to translate some of our popular maths games, aimed at lower age primary pupils, into Gaelic. It is the first time interactive resources have been designed to support Gaelic language acquisition and numeracy skills in a fun, engaging way, making them ideal for Gaelic Medium Education. Gaelic Medium Education is an intrinsic part of Scottish education that enables children and young people to achieve fluency in Gaelic. We at Topmarks are delighted to help to promote a tradition that connects children to their heritage and cultural identity.

Stòrlann is funded by the Scottish Government to function as the main provider of Gaelic educational resources in Scotland.
There are currently eight games available, which cover subjects such as place value, ordering numbers, time, money, counting and shapes. The games are free to use and are expected to be useful in schools and also for parents. The games are available on our Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig page.
Stòrlann is funded by the Scottish Government to function as the main provider of Gaelic educational resources in Scotland. The Scottish Education Secretary said:
“This is an excellent addition to the teaching resources which will help to support maths learning in Gaelic medium education in Scottish schools. I am confident these materials will strengthen the quality of Gaelic teaching and will be both fun and informative for teachers and young people in classes.
“This Government remains committed to supporting access to Gaelic Mediumn Education for those that wish to have it and more broadly ensuring a sustainable future for the language.”
