Bird Collecting Moss

Great tits are common garden birds that like to build their nests in bird boxes put up in gardens by people.

When a male has paired up with a female in spring, they both begin the hunt for a suitable warm, dry, nesting site which is safe from predators, such as cats.

Their decision made, they start building their nest from things they find such as moss, twigs, dried grass, feathers and animal hair.

This bird is collecting moss.
