Easter Nests Recipe
To make 10 Easter nests you will need
- 225g (8oz) milk chocolate
- 50g (2oz) butter
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 100g (4oz) cornflakes
- A packet of candy-coated mini eggs
- 10 paper baking cases
- A bun or muffin tray
- A large saucepan
What you do
-
Place ten paper baking cases into the hollows of the tray.
- Break the chocolate into pieces and place them in a large saucepan.
-
Add the butter. Warm a tablespoon in hot water, dry it, then use it to measure
the golden syrup into the pan.
-
With an adult’s help, warm the pan gently while stirring continuously until the
chocolate and butter have melted. Do not let the mixture boil.
-
Turn off the heat. Add the cornflakes and gently stir until they are coated in
chocolate, taking care not to crush them.
-
Spoon the mixture into the paper cases. Use the back of a teaspoon to make a
small hollow in the centre of each nest.
- Place a few mini eggs in each nest. Put the tray in the fridge for about an hour, or until the nests are firm.
- Serve the nests in or out of their paper cases. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge and eat within three days.
